Motherhood is a 24-hour-a-day job and rarely do you get a day "off". Not until the moment J was born did I fully comprehend the magnitude and the demands of raising a thoughtful, well-mannered productive member of society. In essence, Jon and I have committed the next 20 years of our lives to getting J and E ready for the world. This is no small feat. Being a firefighter's wife means I am both mom and dad while Jon's at the firestation every third day. I can't complain too much, Jon's an exceptional father and stays home with our beautiful babies while I am work. My kids are blessed to only have to go to daycare 1-2 times a week.
This mother day was just as sweet as the previous three. Jon let me sleep in (9am- hurray!) and I awoke to a delicious pancake breakfast. We chilled for a few hours while E napped and then we headed out. Off to lunch- Mexican food- and then to the mall. I didn't really want anything for Mother's Day- sleeping in and a hot bubble bath were at the top of my list. My hubby spoils me and wanted to buy something. What should I get? The Micheal Kors bag I 've been dreaming about or a new pair of Tory Burch shoes.....decisions, decisions.
My kids were troopers and we trekked through not one, but TWO malls.....for these beauties
And just for fun, my new favorite quote about motherhood- courtesy of one bad ass mama, KQ
Be grateful for what the Mamas do. The world would collapse in on itself and die without them.
