Now it's time to catch up!

O.M.G.

I am a slacker! Life has been REALLY busy and I feel a little guilt that I haven't been posting regularly. I've slowly started to tinker more with my camera...here's snapshot of our lives over the past few months.

Happy 5th Birthday Jack Ryan!

Dear Jack Ryan,

You are amazing! I'm not just saying that because your my favorite five-year-old or because your mine! You are sweet, unselfish, kind and caring. You love your role as big brother and are so patient and good with your sister, who, let's face it, can be a real pill sometimes. You love all things Avengers and Spider Man. You're doing great with school....it's hard to believe you will start kindergarten next year. You think your Dad is the coolest and LOVE cruisin' in his car while listening to Linkin Park. You love your mom too- I cherish our bedtime traditions of stories, eskimo kisses, butterfly kisses and "I love you more than" contests. You rise before dawn most days and yearn to learn all that you can. Never change your ways my sweet boy. Reach for the stars, never give up and be true to you....for you are AMAZING!

Love,
Mommy

Attention Young Jedi!

We celebrated Jack Ryan's 5th Birhtday today with his friends and family at the Frisco Discovery Center. It was a Jedi Training party and we had so much fun!
Invite

White cupcakes with buttercream frosting.
Design done with William Sonoma Star Wars kit.
They took FOREVER to dust (that's powdered sugar).
When I woke up on Saturday morning for the party,
the white sugar had absorbed the frosting dye and
I had to hurry and re-dust all of the cupcakes.

Ewok Snacks
Chex Mix, pretzel sticks, goldfish, marshmellows and chocolate chips

Cupcakes....yum

Yoda Soda
7-up and Lime Sherbert

Star Wars Banner

Happy Birthday!

Alone....ALL ALONE

This never happens....I am alone. My sister had a conference in Denver and so my in-laws were gracious enough to fly Jon and the kids (Z included) to Denver for a few days giving this mommy a break. I took a half day on Wednesday to have a little me time and get pampered. Other than that, I cleaned and spent lots of time on FaceTime. I missed Jon and the kids so very much. The house was just too quiet! A look at some of the fun they had....

Let the planning begin....

10 weeks...10 weeks and Jack will be five years old.....FIVE! Where did the time go? He was just a baby! So what to do for his party.....Star Wars of course! This little man of mine is obsessed with Star Wars and all things Jedi. We found a great place that actually has Jedi Training for a party theme. Can it really be that easy? I'm calling today so the invites can be created and mailed.

Just Keep Swimming

Jack finished his first set of swim lessons this morning. He has become quite the fish. He loves that he can swim without floaties now. It's on to the intermediate class.

We've got a swimmer....

Jack had his first swimming lesson today, and if you can't tell, he LOVED it! He was a pro. I am so thankful we exposed him to the water before his lessons. Some of the kids were terrified of the water.

Post Season Round Up

The Great White Sharks season has come to an end. Jack Ryan had a great time playing on his first team. He's already to play baseball, basketball  and football. His team had a little party at the park after the game on Saturday and each player got a trophy. We are so proud of him!

Relaxing, Rocky Mountain Style

We made it to Denver with little issue. The kids were perfect little angels on the plane on our way here. We went and saw the Easter bunny....E is not a fan. She wouldn't go near him, so this year I have a picture of Jack by himself with EB. Tomorrow our big plans involve dying eggs and going to park.

The Great White Sharks

Jack started soccer on Friday. We met up with his new team and had practice. A cold front moved through Dallas and it was a bit chilly. The kids had a great time. Jack got his uniform- Lucky Number 7- and a new soccer ball and Shark's water bottle. We have one more practice next week and his first game is at 8am on Saturday morning....seriously 8am???

A Toddler's Mind

A toddler's mind is a beautiful and complicated thing.....this is a hilarious depiction of how they think! This starts about 16 months and goes through about age 5. Ella is currently ruled by Elmo, goldfish and she is obsessed with her belly-button. Jack is also ruled by goldfish, phone call interuption ganglia and his endless repetition stem.

Jedi Training

Jack recieved a light saber for his birthday and has since been obsessed with Star Wars and becoming a Jedi. He frequently roams the house with this light saber searching for Darth Vader. We've introduced him to the Star Wars movies (what is the word for a six-part series??) and now he can't wait to be old enough for training. Jon is just loving this time with him. I can't wait for Ella to take interest in something like this!

One other funny thing...with the introduction of Star Wars came the realization of where our cat, Yoda, got his name. Jack asked me the other day "Does Yoda use the Force?" I love this kid!

Flashback Friday: 2007

One of Jack Ryan's first pictures.....it seems like a lifetime ago. It's so cliche but they grow so fast. Love, love, love him!

Big Brother, Little Sister

I know I'm biased, but they really are the most beautiful children. They love each other so much.
