Little E is 15 months old

At 15 months old Ella Grace clocks in at 18 lbs 14 ounces and is 30 1/2 inches long. She's a bean. She did great with her immunizations and flu shot this month. She's running all over the house, eating with a fork or a spoon and blowing sweet sweet kisses to me, Jon and Jack. She is so much busier than Jack was at this age. She's really started to play with her baby dolls- I must admit it's just the sweetest thing to watch.

Lazy Beach Days

What a wonderful vacation we had to the Gulf Coast of Florida! My family has been spending time in Venice and Sarasota since I was a baby. It is such a treat to share these beaches with my children. My mother graciously flew the family and my sister and niece to Florida for a week of family fun. The kids had a great time! Jack and Zoe were so cute together. It made me long for the days when my sister will be in Texas and our children can grow up together! Ella had a great time as well. She loved the sand and water much more than Jack did the first time he visited the beach.

Time to Start Planning

In about six weeks or so my little Jack-Jack is going to be a big four year old! I can't believe it! Where did the time go? I am starting to plan Jack's first birthday party with all his little friends. He couldn't quite committ to one specific Avenger so we are going to represent them all on his invition. Hopefully someone has a great invitation that doesn't look too cheesy!

Now on too the research.....where to have a 4th Birthday Party? Stay tuned....

10 Years Later

I've struggled to think what the tenth anniversary of those horrific acts means to me personally and I'm still not sure what I feel. For me September 11 had only ever been synonomous with my friend Kelli's birthday. In 2011 I was a Senior in College. I was just about to get up for class and head off to take an exam for one of my Marketing classes when Jon called. He told me to turn on the TV- something had hit one of the Twin Towers. The TV wasn't on for more than two minutes when I watched an American Airlines flight hit the second tower. My mouth dropped open and I wanted to scream- I just began to cry. My father called and was upset he couldn't reach my Aunt Virginia- she lives in the DC area. I told him to be calm, the phone lines are bound to be overloaded right now. Then the Pentagon was hit. My dad called back minutes later and was in tears. My Uncle Gene worked at the Pentagon at the time and we couldn't help but think the worst.

Lives were lost, men and women were widowed, children were orphaned and above all else beliefs in the securtiy America offered where shattered. The world changed in once instant by horrible cowards intent on inflicting pain and trying to prove a point to the world. I really felt vunderable for such a long time. An act of war hadn't been committed on American soil since Pearl Harbor.

I long for the world I grew up in...a world my chidlren will never know.  To those who lost their lives, to the families who were robbed of loving their loved ones just one more day, to the emergency responders, and the men and women who continue to protect our nation...we honor you today and every year on 9/11.

Well that didn't take long....

A little over a week ago I wrote about weaning Ella off her bottle this month. I'm happy and sad to report we packed up the bottle warmer and drying rack yesterday. I had taken away one of her bottle feedings last week so we were just doing milk in the bottle first thing in the morning and then before bed. Yesterday she put up a bit of a fight when I tried to give her a bottle, but evently caved and drank from in. This morning she wan't nothing to do with it. That was almost too easy.

On a side note, this mommy is a little sad to pack this stuff away. No more little bitty babies in our house. As I was packing up the stuff and wiping down the counters my hubby looked at me and said "if we win the lottery can we have one more baby?" my heart just melted. He is so in love with our kids. I pondered the thought for a milisecond then smiled and said "I really love of family of four".

God Bless College Football

It's FINALLY back! I love football in general, but there is something great about watching kids play ball because they LOVE the game, not because they are being paid millions or being endorsed by some Fortune 50 company. I loved going to games in college, even though Baylor wasn't some powerhouse like UT or OU, the games were always fun. Just the spirit of the games was great. I was so fortunate to attend some great college football games. This weekend Baylor opened the 2011 season with a FANTASTIC win over 14th Ranked TCU. It was a tense battle in the 4th quarter that literally came down to the final 2 seconds. Sic 'em Bears!
