Ella Grace @ 13 months

Time flies with this busy little girl! She is so inquisitive/nosy when it comes to everything. It's a big change from Jack, who was a pretty chill little dude. She has six teeth right now and more are on the way. She weights 19 lbs- look out world -we make break twenty by the end of August!

Ella's eating habits are just like her mama's! She loves cheese and meat. Mac 'n Cheese is her favorite meal and her meat of choice if turkey, deli style. She also loves taco meat. It's so refreshing to have a non-picky eater!

Jack is doing so well with her, especially since all she does is take his toys. On the rare occassion he gets upset, but caves just to make her happy.

Visitors from Chi-Town

My Aunt Kim and Uncle David aka "UB" came to town this weekend to spend some time with the family. They started out on their summer vacation by heading to the East Coast for some fun in Pennsylvania, New York and D.C. and then took off to Texas! Crazy, right? They are just the best. This was their first time to meet Ella. What a wonderful time my kids had with them. My UB and Jack bonded so quickly and had so much fun playing in a "band" together. UB even taught Jack to say "Are you ready to rock?" using his best "rock star" voice. We relaxed by the pool, ate great food and just enjoyed each other's company. It was a great visit because nothing was planned.

"It All Ends": Thank you J.K Rowling

From the moment I picked up Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone I was hooked. I impatiently waited for the next book to be released and often times picked it up at a midnight sale just so I could be one of the first to read it. As a self professed bookworm, I am in awe of what J.K. Rowling was able to do for the literary world. In an age of online skimming and short-hand texts she got kids to step away from the tv, away from the internet and pick up an actual book.

In 2001, my love for Harry, Ron, Hermione and everything Hogwarts expanded when the first movie was released. For 10 years I have waited and watched the story come to life on the big screen and never once in eight movies have I been disappointed. I sat today in the theater with Jon and we shared our last Harry Potter movie date. It was truly bittersweet.

I look forward to the day when J and E hang on every word J.K. Rowling penned and beg me to read them just one more page.
